Radical Wise High School Kids in Queens standing for Brad, Nov. 9th

To the Friends and Community of Brad Will,

TREA (Teens for Racial and Ethnic Awakening) and YELL! (The Young, Eclectic Liberation Leaders) are high school student activist groups in Queens. We met Brad last year at our school and, in tribute to him and those who were killed last week, we are hosting a discussion/workshop on Brad Will’s work and the struggles of the people of Oaxaca.

Brad visited our school and attended our second Youth Activist Conference. He also led a crew of journalists to document the student walkout on May Day against the infamous immigration bill, HR4437. His courage and passions remain an inspiration to us. We’ll miss him. He gave his life in pursuit of providing us the raw events in Mexico. We feel it is important to bring these struggles to our spaces of dialogue. Everybody is welcome to attend our event this Thursday, Nov 9th at our school.

Information is below. Our school is in the heart of Queens, and we especially want to invite and make welcome Spanish-speaking folks and people from Mexico and Latin America.

TREA ( Adolescentes Para el Despertar Racial y Étnico) y YELL! (Líderes Eclécticos Juveniles de la Libertad) son grupos estudiantiles de Queens. Cuando Brad visitó nuestra escuela, nos impresionó su calor humano y su amor por la justicia y por el cambio social. En tributo a Brad y a los caidos en las calles de Oaxaca, presentaremos una discusión/taller sobre el trabajo de Brad Will y sobre la lucha del pueblo de Oaxaca. Todos estan invitados a compartir sus experiencias de Brad y a discutir los movimientos de justicia en los cuales él participó. También podrán informarse acerca de la situación en Oaxaca y podrán TOMAR PASOS para
continuar la lucha. Todos estan invitados de hablar sobre Brad y la lucha en Oaxaca.
